RemarksProduction of 400 tons/day [22]. 1 mi W of the Kyle shaft [31]. In Youngstown Twp. [36]. 2 1/2 mi

S of Youngstown on the Atlantic & Great Western Railroad [6]. Coal identified by elevation. Most

productive of all the mines on the south side of Youngstown; about 240,000 tons were mined;

mine located just east of Rollason home at 537 Hylda St.; connects with the Kyle mine (Mg-5),

which connects with the McKinnie mine (Mg-12); shaft filled with dirt [5]. Shaft site, located at 523

Hylda Ave., collapsed leaving 115' vertical opening. The site was stabilized by filling in the shaft

with Massillon sandstone and capping the shaft with a 12-inch thick concrete pad reinforced with

one-inch steel bars [YOUNGSTOWN VINDICATOR, 6/16/77 and 8/15/77].
